How to Submit a Nomination

  1. Create an Account and/or Log in.
  2. Nominate yourself, your team, or your peer(s). Start by providing the award category being applied for and all necessary contact information.
  3. Select the Category you would like to sumit.
  4. Answer the set of Questions. limited to 250 words. 
  5. Submit Excutive summary (for the Governance Professional of the Year and Peter Dey Achievement Award only
  6. Upload supporting materials. If including supporting materials please direct judges to specific sections/pages that best support your submission. Be as accurate, specific and brief as possible. 
  7. Provide nominee consent and submit the entry form. You may nominate yourself or an organization other than your own. In either case, the executive summary needs to be submitted as described above, including the relevant supporting materials. If a nomination is submitted for another organization or individual(s) and the nominating party wishes to remain anonymous, please make a note of this on the summary form and GPC will follow up with the nominee(s) directly for their consent and materials. 
  8. SUBMIT
  9. Repeat the above steps for each entry you have.

GPC‘s mandate is to be the voice of governance professionals in Canada. Our members deal with all matters affecting corporate governance, from board and committee processes, management and structure, disclosure, stakeholder engagement, legal and corporate compliance, as well as issues crucial to boards, their accountability and oversight. As such, GPC strives to provide valuable and timely information on recent changes and developments which affect our members – in all industries and sectors (listed, private, public, crown, not for profit, etc). Our members include professionals with positions such as Corporate Secretary, Corporate and General Counsel, Manager Corporate Governance, VP/Director/Officer Compliance, Risk, Legal or Regulatory Affairs, Associate/Assistant Corporate Secretary and Board Administrator, CEO, CFO, Board Chair, Director, Committee Chairs.

About the Award

The EGAs recognize the important contribution that organizations, their Boards and Governance Professionals make in terms of best practices, that build and sustain stakeholder value in Canada.

The submission methodology and criteria has been updated to allow for a more inclusive and open process, so as to encourage more organizations to participate. GPC invites all Canadian organizations from all sectors to take this opportunity to gain recognition for their innovative governance practices and to be celebrated for their accomplishments.

The award categories reflect the current governance environment and the challenges faced by organizations in ensuring they remain sustainable and innovative in a rapidly evolving landscape. The awards also focus on the Board’s and the Governance Professional’s roles in adding value to their organization.
